The Foothills Regional Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre (LRRC) has been organizing household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste roundups twice per year, at the MD of Foothills’ transfer stations. The transfer stations are located in Priddis and between Black Diamond and Turner Valley and the roundups have been a success. See our website for transfer station addresses here: Hours
The last roundup on Sept. 24th 2016 received the following materials from residents, taken at no charge:
8 – 1m3 bins filled with used paint cans
8 – 205 L drums of used oil
15 – 205 L drums of various HHW containers
7 car batteries
1 – 205 L drum of used antifreeze
19 propane tanks
And numerous fluorescent bulbs
Thanks to all the residents that participated in the roundup and are helping keep hazardous waste out of the landfill and the environment. The LRRC accepts these materials year round for customers, though some materials are surcharged. See our website for pricing details here: HHW
